  1. The woman, who works as a legal advisor for women's business organisations, accused the hotel staff of harassing her after she complained of poor service and asked for some time to settle the bill. She also claimed that one of the chefs at Delhi’s top hotel touched her inappropriately.
  2. An FIR was filed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport police station based on her complaint.
  3. In her complaint, she alleged that the male employees followed her inside the hotel and stood outside the washroom when she was inside.
  4. The JW Marrot Hotel, however, has rejected the charges as "baseless." They said that they were cooperating with the investigations with the relevant authorities. The spokesperson told Press Trust of India that the hotel strongly refutes the allegations made by the woman against them and is cooperating with the investigations. They also added that the hotel operates with the highest ethical standards and values.
  5. According to the complainant's statement in the FIR, the woman’s organisation had booked 94 rooms and halls in the hotel for an event in December last year. The organisation had paid Rs. 80 lakhs in January and sought time to pay the remaining amount after checking through the bills as there were some "discrepancies" in the room tariff.
  6. The woman claimed in the FIR that they had booked 30 rooms until January 1 and requested that the hotel allow them to make the remaining payment by January 1. However, the hotel authorities held her and a few other organisers captive and refused to allow them to leave the hotel.
  7. The woman added that she was allowed to leave the hotel only after she dialled 1091, a helpline number of the Delhi police for women in distress.
