The crown, which carries the famous Kohinoor diamond, will now reportedly be worn by Queen Consort Camilla as her husband ascends to the throne of England. The Kohinoor is considered the most priceless diamond ever found. Founded in the 14th century, it eventually came under British control when Punjab was taken over.

In February, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne, the late Queen had announced in an official statement that she wanted her daughter-in-law to take over as the Queen Consort. "And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes king, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen consort as she continues her loyal service," her statement read.

Queen Consort Camilla is 75 years old and was born in 1947. She met King Charles at a polo field in the 1970s. She is his second wife.

The Kohinoor, also known as Koh-i-Noor, is a 105.6-carat diamond with a glorious past. After the British conquest of Punjab ended in 1849, the diamond was presented to Queen Victoria. It has now been a part of the British Crown Jewels, but there is still a long-standing ownership dispute involving at least four nations, including India. The Kohinoor diamond is currently set in a platinum crown that was made for Queen Elizabeth (then known as the Queen Mother) during King George VI's coronation in 1937. The Kohinoor is currently on display at the London Tower.
