Zara Rutherford, a 19-year-old pilot, will land her single-seater Shark sport aircraft in Kortrijk, Belgium, on January 17, 2022, more than 150 days after she began her trip to become the world's youngest woman to travel around the world solo, according to a report of AP News.

Shaesta Waiz, an American aviator, had previously set the previous record at the age of 30. Rutherford will land her single-seater Shark sport aircraft in Kortrijk, Belgium, on Monday, more than 150 days after she set out to become the world's youngest woman to solo around the globe.

Who Is Zara Rutherford?

- She was born in the year 2002 and is Belgian-British. Sam Rutherford is her father's name, and Beatrice de Smet is her mother's.

- Her parents are pilots, so flying is in her blood, and she has been flying in small planes since she was six years old.

- She began flying at the age of 14 and accumulated roughly 130 hours of solo flight time in preparation for the record attempt. She's had a pilot's license since she was 17 years old.

- Zara recently finished her A-Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Economics, and Physics, and plans to pursue a degree in computer science at university.

- The adolescent holds Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and UK private pilot's licenses, as well as microlight licenses from Slovakia and France. Since 2019, she has been a member of the Honourable Company of Air Pilots.

- Zara Rutherford left Belgium on August 18th for a 32,000-mile journey west.

- She's travelled to roughly 50 nations since then, including the United States, Greenland, Colombia, and South Korea.

- According to Reuters, the most difficult part thus far was flying across northern Russia since, if something went wrong, aid would be hours away in sub-zero temperatures.

- The circumnavigation, which includes 70 planned stops and 19 days of relaxation, was supposed to be completed in November of last year, but it was postponed owing to severe weather, visa complications, and COVID limitations.

- She stated that she has been flying for as long as she can remember, and one of her greatest ambitions is to become an astronaut, in addition to flying across the world.

- She hopes that her endeavour to break the record will encourage more girls and women to pursue careers in STEM fields.
