Who Is Oshin Sharma? Himachal Administrative Officer Who Accused MLA Husband Of Torture

A Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service (HPAS) officer Oshin Sharma has accused her husband Vishal Nehria, a legislator from Dharamshala, of physical and mental torture.

An 11-minute video of Sharma went viral on Friday, June 25 on social media, in which the officer alleged that her husband slapped her thrice on Thursday in front of his family members.

The couple got married on April 26 this year and Sharma alleged that Nehria had beaten her in February before her marriage at a Chandigarh hotel and threw her out of the house when she was tested positive for COVID-19 after four days of their marriage.

Who is Oshin Sharma?

• Oshin Sharma is a Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service (HPAS) officer who cracked the exam in 2020 with an all India rank of 17.
  Sharma hails from the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh and was raised in Shimla. Her father Bhuvnesh Sharma serves as a Naib Tehsildar and her mother works as the Personal Assistant to DC Kangra.
• Sharma completed her post-graduation in Chemistry from Punjab University and decided on the career path of a bureaucrat in the final year of her graduation.
• In an interview with the website Himachal Pradesh General Studies after cracking the HAS examination, Sharma revealed that the state examination was never her focus and that she was preparing for the UPSC exam and will continue to do so.
• Sharma also has a Youtube channel where she makes videos about cracking HAS examination and shares tips and tricks to qualify for the exam. She started making these videos on Youtube about two weeks ago and also talks about the subject on her Instagram profile.

Sharma has now returned to her maternal house. Talking about her husband she said that she knew Nehria since their college days and he was abusive towards her even then. She said that she broke up with him due to his violent behaviour but Nehria started pursuing her again after becoming MLA in 2019. Sharma added that she rejected him for two years but later thought of giving the relationship another chance.
