Who Is Manjusha Neogi? Kolkata Model Grieving Friend's Death Found Dead At Home

Manjusha Neogi, a Kolkata-based model, was found dead at her residence in the Kolkata's Patuli area on 27th May. According to her mother, she was suffering from acute depression post the demise of her friend and colleague Bidisha De Majumder who ended her life two days earlier.

• Manjusha's body was sent to a hospital for a forensic examination to know the exact cause of her death, a police officer said.
• "My daughter was severely depressed following her friend Bidisha's death and was constantly talking about her since then," Neogi's mother said.
• On 27th May, her aunt went to call her but she wasn't responding. Later, her body was found hanging in her bedroom.
• Manjusha had appeared in the role of a nurse in the TV show 'Kanchi'. It was a very brief appearance.
• She was grieving the death of her friend Bidisha Majumder. She was a popular face in bridal make-up photo shoots and was also found dead at her rented apartment in Kolkata's Dumdum area on 25th May. 
• They had been friends for three years and the two had done a lot of work together, as per a report.
• Manjusha's mother claimed that she was so heartbroken after her death that she would say, "I will do the same as Bidisha"
• Yesterday, when she returned from her photoshoot, I gave her fruits. She was depressed and I tried to talk to her, told her to stay happy. She had recently got married and her husband is a good human being. I asked her what was her problem but she told nothing but kept talking about death,” Manjusha’s mom added.

The reason behind Manjusha Neogi's death

A suicide note was found near the body. She mentioned the lack of career opportunities to be the main reason behind this step. She hailed from Naihati in the northern suburbs of Kolkata and was known for her bridal make-up photo shoots.
