Who is Bonnie Paine: Controversy erupted Friday when Australian Test cricket captain Tim Paine was found in a compromising position amid a sexting scandal, with accusations against him of sending lewd texts to a female co-worker. The 36-year-old stepped down from his top role, apologising for the hurt caused to his wife Bonnie, among other parties.

"I've been blessed with a wonderful, loving and supportive family, and it breaks my heart to know how much I’ve let them down. They have always stood by me, been my most loyal fans, and I’m indebted to them for their support," Paine said in a statement, after explosive revelations made following an investigation into the sexting matter by sports body Cricket Australia.
As per reports quoting Paine, the text exchange in question with a former co-employee of Paine occurred four years ago in 2017. The woman, who was at the time with Cricket Tasmania, was allegedly sent a picture of Paine's genitalia along with some inappropriate messages. More here.

Paine says though an HR probe four years ago at the time of the said sexting incident did not show a breach of conduct and he was exonerated, he "regretted" what had happened. "I spoke to my wife and family at the time and am enormously grateful for their forgiveness and support," he added in his statement.
