Who Is Anukriti Gusain? Model Turned Politician Expected To Contest In Assembly Polls

Anukriti Gusain joined Congress on Friday, January 21. The model-turned-politician is also the daughter-in-law of Harak Singh Rawat, the terminated BJP member who also joined Congress. Anukriti was a model and Miss India but then she changed her path towards social service and has done social work in the Uttarakhand town of Lansdowne.

Anukriti shifted her focus towards social service in 2018. Anukriti tried her luck with Congress and was accepted. Because of her social work for the welfare of Lansdowne, Anukriti is also being seen as a strong contender for the Lansdowne parliament seat. However, it cannot be said whether she will get the ticket or not.

Modelling Career

Anukriti was Miss India Delhi in the year 2013. She came 5th in the Miss India contest. The model turned politician had also won Bride Of The World India in 2013. Anukriti went on to represent India in Miss India Pacific World in 2014 and Miss India Grand International in 2017. However, she shifted her focus to social work entirely since 2018 and has been doing social work.

Political Life

After marrying the son of political leader Harak Singh Rawat, Tushit Rawat in 2018, she set on a path towards politics but didn't immediately go mainstream. She started with working for the improvement of her hometown, Lansdowne, a town in Uttarakhand and decide to strengthen her roots there. She operates her women and child welfare organisation. Her husband, Tushit operates the Doon Institute Of Medical Science in Shankarpur and is reportedly not interested in politics.

Anukriti has joined Congress just like her father-in-law. She is expecting to become the candidate for assembly elections from the Lansdowne constituency and is going to work towards to cementing her position and gain public support.
