I Will Definitely Take Part In Serious Politics: VK Sasikala Is Back

Sasikala returns to politics: Former All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) general secretary VK Sasikala is officially returning to politics. The political leader whi came out of jail just a few days ago made the announced on late Monday. She was released from Bengaluru prison last month and has returned to Chennai with full support on Monday. "I will definitely take part in serious politics," she said, making her political intentions clear. 

While addressing the reporters at Nekkuthi tollgate in Tirupathurthe, the late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s close aide said, "We must work in unity. The party will arise like a phoenix this time too."

The leader returned to Tamil Nadu with her car displaying the AIADMK flag.  She was warned by the Krishnagiri police against it but she went ahead with the display anyway. Sasikala was welcomed by a huge crowd who threw flower petals at her convoy and danced alongside it. About 100 police personnel were posted at Nazarethpet which is located at the outskirts of Chennai. Read more on this here.

On January 20, Sasikala tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru. She was rushed to the hospital after she complained of “severe chest infection”, fever, breathlessness and cough.

The 63-year-old leader was serving a four-year jail term in the Rs 66 crore disproportionate assets case. She was lodged at Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara jail.
