Where does she live and study?
Her family resides in Tamenglong district in northern Manipur. The officials of the Tamenglong district said that the girl's parents were out of their home in the daytime for farming. That's when the girl attended her classes while babysitting her 2-year-old sister. She is a student of Dailong primary school in the Tamenglong district of Manipur.

It also caught the attention of Manipur Power, Forest and Environment Minister Th. Biswajit Singh.
The Minister promised to support the girl and said, "Her dedication for education is what left me amazed! This 10-year-old girl named Meiningsinliu Pamei from Tamenglong, Manipur attends school babysitting her sister, as her parents were out for farming and studies while keeping her younger sister in her lap."

He also promised to personally take care of her education till she graduates. He also said that he was proud of her dedication.
Banashankari's story
A girl named Banashankari has a similar story. She used to attend her online classes on the phone as she didn’t have a laptop. She would also sell flowers at the Adishakti temple in Bengaluru while attending the classes. Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Chief Gaurav Gupta gifted her a laptop after being moved by her story that had gone viral on social media last year.
“I’m feeling extremely happy that he (Gaurav Gupta) helped me. I want to study well and get a good rank. I want to bring a good name to him and my parents by studying well. On the phone, I wasn’t able to listen well and this laptop will be very helpful. He (Gaurav Gupta) told me to study well and become a good student.”, she said.
Her family was very happy to see the gift and they encouraged Banashankari to study more. She currently studies at Mitralaya Girls High School and dreams to become a doctor.
