Uttar Pradesh schools will now remain shut for students up to class 8 till April 11. The Uttar Pradesh government decided to extend this restriction due to the increase in the number of coronavirus cases.
This restriction for Uttar Pradesh schools was supposed to last till March 31, but that got extended. The state of Uttar Pradesh has reported about 2,600 new COVID-19 cases, and nine deaths on Thursday. These figures have increased the COVID-19 caseload to 6,19,783, and the death toll to 8,820. This data is in accordance with a health department bulletin.

Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued new directives after reviewing the state's COVID-19 situation. A meeting for the same was held at his 5-Kalidas Marg residence. An official spokesperson said that all the concerned authorities have been asked to ensure that all the COVID-19 are being followed for school students belonging to other classes.
Teachers will now have to continue to go to schools for all their administrative work. However, no educational activities will be executed.
Yogi Adityanath has also asked officials to reactivate Covid-19 hospitals and send him a report by evening regarding the same. He has also ordered special alertness in areas such as Lucknow, Kanpur, Meerut, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ghaziabad and Agra. On Thursday, 935 cases were reported from Lucknow followed by 242 from Allahabad, 198 from Varanasi and 103 from Kanpur Nagar. This has been reported in a health bulletin.
The chief minister has also called for increasing the vaccination rate against COVID-19.
No physical classes in Bengaluru schools
No physical classes will be held in Bengaluru at the moment. This has been announced for classes 6 to 8. "Keeping in view the increasing COVID cases, the physical classes for standard six to nine has been stopped with immediate effect till the next order," Primary and Secondary Education Minister of Karnataka, S Suresh Kumar, said in a statement.
