Jackie Miley, a 68-year-old from South Carolina, has a rare interest. She has set a new Guinness Record for collecting the maximum number of stuffed teddy bears. She owns 8,026 stuffed bears.
Her Journey
She started her collection with her first bear named "Grandma Jackie" which she got during a vacation in 2000.
"I never had a teddy bear as a child - did not even know what one was until I was eight years old and saw one at the Minnesota State Fair," said Miley, as reported by Deccan Chronicle.
With time, she grew passionate about her collection and started visiting stores and thrift shops situated in her vicinity. She even bought them on her trips and kept adding to her collection.

The idea of getting her name for the Guinness Book of World Records popped up when her friends suggested her to do so. By that time, she was the owner of 3,000 teddy bears.
Variety in her Collection
Jackie has spent nearly two decades accumulating the world’s largest teddy bear collection. All her teddy bears are of different sizes. The smallest one in the collection is just ¾ inches tall and the largest one at nearly 8 feet, Guinness said.

She has displayed the collection at a tourist attraction named Teddy Bear Town, located in Hill City, South Dakota. The bears come from all U.S. states and 29 countries.
While the woman's obsession with stuffed toys is surprising, the fact that she is passionate about something that gives her true happiness is worth-appreciating. Her remarkable story is the quintessence of how one must not consider age to be a limiting factor.
