The concerned Indian students are asked to revaccinate before the said deadline.

Considering the new mandating rule, students are worried about the aftermath of taking two different vaccines against the COVID-19.

Indian Students To Revaccinate:

In report by NewYorkTimes, a 25-year-old student who aspires to join the Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs mentions having taken the two doses of COVAXIN available in India. However, her University has asked her to re-vaccinate upon her arrival on campus with a WHO-approved vaccine.

The student said, "I am just concerned about taking two different vaccines. They said the application process would be the toughest part of the cycle, but it's really been all of this that has been uncertain and anxiety-inducing,"

The spokesperson for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Kristen Nordlund spoke to the New York Times regarding the confusion that given the fact Covid-19 vaccines are not interchangeable, the safety and effectiveness of receiving two different vaccines have not been studied yet.

Nordlund, however, allowed the revaccination. Students, who have administered the Indian vaccine, will have to wait for a period of 28 days for the revaccination.

The WHO approved and Universities validated vaccines include the US-based pharmaceutical companies Pfizer Inc, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna Inc.
