American actress, Chloe Grace Moretz has slammed the poster of her new film Red Shoes & the 7 Dwarfs. The poster shows an animated tall and thin version of Snow White standing opposite a short and fat version of her.

And what reads as a tagline against the picture is, “What if Snow White was no longer beautiful and the 7 dwarfs not so short?”

This outright insult of women who are shorter and slightly on the heavier side has got people venting their outrage on social media. Celebrities are tagging the actor to ask her opinion on it and she obliged. In a tweet -- responding to allegations and criticism against her -- she said, “I have now fully reviewed the marketing for Red Shoes, I am just as appalled and angry as everyone else, this wasn't approved by me or my team.”

The 20-year-old actor also added, “Please know I have let the producers of the film know. I lent my voice to a beautiful script that I hope you will all see in its entirety.”

“The actual story is powerful for young women and resonated with me. I am sorry for the offence that was beyond my creative control.”

One of the producer of the film, Sujin Hwang, also apologised, “That advertising campaign is being terminated," she told CNN.

"Our film, a family comedy, carries a message designed to challenge social prejudices related to standards of physical beauty in society by emphasising the importance of inner beauty.”

"We appreciate and are grateful for the constructive criticism of those who brought this to our attention."

Plus-sized model, Tess Holiday, had commented against the ad campaign on Twitter saying, “How did this get approved by an entire marketing team? Why is it okay to tell young kids being fat = ugly?"

The film is a satirical representation of the original classic story, 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'. Here, seven princes are turned into dwarves and they can only break the curse by finding a woman's enchanted red shoes.
