Urban Outraged: Netizens React To PETA's Imaginary Store Selling Clothes Made Of "Human Parts"

Taking reference from The Devil Wears Prada and other such pop cultural gems to memes on the new "store" in town, sharing massively about they are "dying" to their hands on the new hot collection.

Once again People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, PETA has taken a bit far in order to spread awareness against animal made clothing. They launched their satirical store titled Urban Outraged, clearly hitting out at the famous brand Urban Outfitters and many others who still use animal leather and fur to make their apparels.

The outlandish campaign was sure grab eyeballs on social media and netizens cannot stop talking about it. Taking reference from The Devil Wears Prada and other such pop cultural gems to memes on the new "store" in town, sharing massively about they are "dying" to get their hands on the new hot collection, PETA's campaign seems a bit sidetracked.

To explain the campaign, the Executive Vice President of PETA, Tracy Reiman told The Post, "A cow’s skin belongs to her, and she feels fear and pain in a slaughterhouse every bit as much as you or I would." The Urban Outraged's infamous taglines and produced descriptions are laced with sarcastic remarks. Not sure the the organisation will be successful in stopping the brands peddling animal flesh and fur to makes clothes, shoes, and many such items but it has successfully become the talk of the town.

The imaginary products, made with expertise in illustrations, show human faces on jackets, shoes with human teeth, and even blood oozing out of bags. The tagline reads, " Fashion that dares to ask the question 'Who are you wearing?" The store also has fictional reviews such as, "“I’m not really a boot person, but I’m glad Meg was, because these are the best boots I’ve ever worn.” There is a special collection named 'Afterlife Collection'. It offers a gory service of turning a deceased loved one's skin into necro-wear.

Reiman said that the Urban Outraged aims to highlight the individuals behind the animal skin sold on store racks and shelves. However, it seems like the classic failures added the already long list of old ones attempted by PETA in the past. Many social media users were seen pointing it out that the organisation has barely done anything to solve the issues regarding animals and the environment except for grabbing attention. Last time PETA sexualised fruits to promote vegan lifestyle. Taking a bit far, they in a way claimed that the lifestyle will improve sex life of individuals. Is there really no other way to promote veganism?

One user wrote, "I don't eat meat for a lot of reasons, including harm to animals. STILL:I LOVE this store! If it were real+the skin was from serial killers,murderers,abusers, and shit so you could shit on their memory? Oh man, I'd buy it and wear that shit all the time!"

Another wrote, "They couldn’t be more satanic if they tried."
