20-Year-Old Unmarried Woman Throws Newborn Out Of Washroom Window

In a shocking case from Delhi, a woman threw away her newborn baby out of the washroom window right after giving birth. The woman was unmarried and threw her baby fearing the social stigma and the police are investigating the case.

Unmarried mothers or single mothers are always the targets of society's shame and comments. Getting pregnant before marriage is considered a sin and raising a child alone is really difficult as the world never stops saying that the child's life without a father is nothing. Amid all the shame and discrimination, it is really difficult for women to deal with unwanted or before-marriage pregnancies. Not every woman is brave enough to take such insensitive treatment headstrong and resort to different ways of getting rid of the pregnancy or the child. A similar incident happened in Kondli village of East Delhi where a woman reportedly ended up doing a really horrible deed to her newborn.

Unmarried Woman Throws Newborn From Window

The woman was 20 years old and reportedly lived in the Jai Ambey Apartments situated in East Delhi's Kondli village. The woman allegedly threw away her baby boy from the window of her washroom shortly after giving birth. The baby was found by the residents of the apartment and they reached her apartment to interrogate about it. On entering the house, the residents allegedly noticed several traces of blood in her dustbin and suspected something troubling going on.

The residents informed the police who filed a case against the woman and also sent her for a medical examination. On initial interrogation, the police got to know that the woman was unmarried and the pregnancy out of wedlock troubled her. She was scared of the society's treatment of her and her child and hence took the grave step of throwing him out of the window of her washroom. The police are currently investigating the case and trying to understand the state of mind of the woman.

The same day from Delhi's Bawana region, a terrifying case of a seven months pregnant woman being burnt by her in-laws and husband had raged the public. The woman's family had allegedly filed the case of attempted murder on her in-laws and husband and she is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.
