The progress made by women in sports has been quite limited. Sportswomen still struggle for equal recognition and funds as sportsmen. This is also true for female sports journalists, who are less in number and are rarely on the forefront in sports reporting. Taking a step in this direction, a new talk show that has been airing on CBS Sports Network called ‘We need to talk,’ has all female hosts.
According to a report by the New York Post, all the three hosts of the show who featured in the inaugural episode (Dara Torres, Lisa Leslie and Swin Cash,) that was set around the Ray Rice domestic violence scandal, had faced abuse in their relationships and talked about their experiences. This was a huge success.

The first season of the show that is now coming to an end, features some of the best female talent in the world of sports that includes, Cash, Torres, Leslie and LaForce but also Leslie Visser, Tracy Wolfson, Dana Jacobson, Summer Sanders, Laila Ali, Andrea Kremer and former Oakland Raider’s CEO Amy Trask.
The show might return for another season according to New York Post. Dana Jacobson told the post: “We’re saturated now with 24/7 sports, so how are we going to differentiate ourselves… It’s not enough to say, ‘We’re the women’s show.’ I know we can’t be afraid to do things that are us because ‘Oh that’s the female side.’ That is what’s different. With all of our interviews, there are always one or two in there that you can say is a lighter side or a different side. I think it’s an interesting side.”
LaForce adds, “When I do sideline reporting, I get a lot of twitter mentions that are sexual and perverted. People say, ‘Hey I saw you in your skirt. hike it up.’ After this show? Not one
