Tit For Tat: New Mom Christian Serratos Hits Back At Trolls
Christian Serratos, who plays Rosita Espinosa in AMC’s The Walking Dead (TWD) series, isn’t just another character fighting flesh eaters – zombies – but a crucial killer who you’d clearly not want to mess with. The badass Rosita doesn’t fear walkers on screen and knows how to handle trolls off screen too.
Christian is a proud mother of a baby girl behind the camera. In real life, the actress is far fierce than Rosita and is enjoying her newfound motherhood. She has recently posted breastfeeding images on Instagram and, as usual, the other world which lives online, focusing more on woman’s body than respecting her privileges, has started shaming her publicly for breastfeeding her infant.
On Wednesday, the actress took to Instagram while she held her baby close in one hand and sat in a makeup chair powdering with another hand. The infant is at her breast. Whatttt??????? How inappropriate!! shout some trolls.
“This is my body and my page. So I will post what I want, when I want. Those who disapprove can suck my left tit,” Christian said, totally slaying it.
One troll wrote “Oh stop looking for attention … yes you can feed you baby in public who cares? But why purposely draw attention to it?”
Christian refused to take the abuse silently and the body shamers who posted cruel comments were stunned by her reply: –
“suck my left tit”
Now, that’s Rosita, ladies and gentlemen!
The post has received more than 213,000 likes and more than 8,000 comments.
A few followers came up with messages of support:
“Good for YOU… love it, motherhood is a blessing, enjoy!” said a user.
“You go girl I think it’s great that you don’t back down some people are just damn dumb it’s a beautiful and wonderful thing,” replied user.
Another said, “Happy to see you not back down…Your body. Your account…I’m a fan and never thought to follow. After seeing your response, you gained another follower and a now bigger fan.”
Much like her character in the series, Christian has refused to cow down in the face of hateful comments.
Does the sight of a mother breastfeeding her child make us disgusted? Why are we so ashamed of the fact, given that we all have had our days of living off breast milk? However, new-age moms aren’t shying away from sharing a breastfeeding photo, and why would they?
For those of you who still think that breastfeeding in public is unladylike, remember that Christian and other moms are looking for anyone’s approval. They are just being themselves and celebrating a unique bond.
