A Virginia woman had an incredible stroke of luck when she discovered a $1 million lottery ticket hidden in her Bible. Jacqueline Mangus had tucked the ticket there after purchasing it from Lake Mart & Deli in Moneta, Virginia. While watching the news recently, Mangus heard that a ticket bought in Moneta had won the New Year's Millionaire Raffle in Virginia. Intrigued, she decided to check her own ticket, which had been safely stashed in her Bible. To her shock, the ticket was the winner! Mangus couldn't contain her excitement, exclaiming that she was "tickled to death" over the good fortune. Though she hasn't revealed any specific plans for her newfound wealth, it's clear that she's overjoyed by the win.
Not The First Time
Lottery luck may have a favourite and it may be this bloke from Carlisle, United Kingdom. Just a few weeks ago, James Clarkson, a 20-year-old trainee gas engineer from Carlisle, shocked everyone by winning a £7.5 million Lotto jackpot (approximately Rs 79.58 crore). Clarkson’s win was even more remarkable as he had previously won £120 (Rs 12,676) on the National Lottery over Christmas, and had reinvested that amount into more tickets, according to The Metro. Despite becoming a millionaire overnight, Clarkson remains committed to his job.
Reports suggest that after learning about his massive win, he still went to work the next day and was even spotted unclogging blocked drains at a site. "I was out in the cold fixing blocked drains the day after I found out I had won. It was a bit grim but that's reality," he explained
"I'm not going to stop working, I'm too young," he added, admitting he knew it might sound "mad" to some. I want to qualify as a heating engineer and then go from there," he elaborated on his plans.
It is rare to find youth with such clear thought process. The 20 year old has his head straight. He shared, "I need to have a purpose in life, plus dad wouldn't let me not work anyway. He says there are plenty of millionaires out there that still work and you need a reason to get up each day."
