The Kashmir Files Line Producer Sarahna Suicide Case: Upcoming movie The Kashmir Files line producer, Sarahna reportedly took her life on June 30. Lead actor, Anupam Kher shared the shocking news on social media on July 9, mourning the loss of his young colleague.

The Kashmir Files was shot last year in Dehradun and Mussoorie under the direction of Vivek Agnihotri.

Anupam Kher shared a picture of his late line producer with her pet dog and wrote on his Instagram handle on Thursday, "This is #Sarahna. She was the line producer of #KashmirFiles when I was shooting for the film at Dehradun & Mussoorie." Kher also recalled the time the unit had celebrated her birthday at the location on December 22, last year. He also added that after the shoot she returned to her hometown in Aligarh given the situation of the lockdown.

Anupam Kher: " Spoke to her shattered mother."

The actor praised the late producer by saying that she was bright, brilliant, helpful, and excellent at her job. He said, "She messaged me on my mother’s birthday to wish mom from her side. I called her and spoke to her and passed mom’s blessings to her." He also claimed that she sounded absolutely fine then. Kher also spoke to her shattered mother.

Further in his note, heartbroken Anupam disclosed that he got the news of Sarahna's demise on July 8.

A Wednesday actor ended the note by shedding light on the topic of depression affecting the youngsters. He wrote, "This depression really is affecting the younger generation drastically."

He paid his condolences to her mother and brother and for granted his respects to the departed soul. He also used the hashtag #MentalHealthMatters.

Actor, Vardhan Pur and filmmaker Ashoke Pandit also commented on his post and paid their condolences.

The film The Kashmir Files is scheduled to release on August 15 revolving around Kashmiri Pandits. Kher has several projects in the pipeline including The Last Show and Mungilal Rocks.

Other suicide cases:

The Pandian Stores actor was reportedly found dead. According to a statement given by her husband, Hemanth, he told the police that Chitra went for a bath soon after returning from the shoot but did not come out.

Another actor, Sandeep Nahar was found dead at his Goregaon home. The post mortem examination of Nahar alleged that the actor died by hanging. His father and brother came down to record their statements at the police station. Read more about it here.
