On Tuesday, at his weekly press convention in Bangkok, Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha was thrown a slew of questions from journalists. Rather than answering them, the Thai PM resorted to a peculiar way of dealing with them.

Chan-ocha interrupted the conference to spray the female journalists, seated at the front row, with hand sanitiser in a bid to dodge tough questions.

Reportedly, the Thailand PM, Prayuth, was irked over the question asked about a list of potential candidates for vacant cabinet posts, following last week's jailing of three of his ministers for insurrection during protests seven years ago.

While still standing at the podium, he said, "Is there anything else to ask?” "I don't know, I haven't seen it. Isn't it something the prime minister should know first?" he continued.

Eventually, he stepped down the podium and began to spray the front-row with sanitiser, as a viral video shows.

Prayuth, a former military coup leader, is known for unpredictable behaviour.  This isn’t the first such incident involving the Thailand PM.

At an event in 2018, where he unveiled a life-sized cut-out of himself, he refused to interact with the press. Pointing out at it, he told the reporters, “Ask this guy"  and walked away.

According to The Thaiger, back in 2014, the PM tossed a banana peel at a Thairath TV camera crew when asked to face the camera. In the same year, the PM was also caught on camera patting a reporter’s head and tugging his ear.
