Pop star Taylor Swift recently sent new mother Katy Perry a hand-embroidered blanket for Katy’s daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom. The pink satin blanket has the words “Baby Bloom” embroidered on it.

Katy’s Insta Announcement

Katy Perry took to her Instagram handle to post a sweet appreciation post for Taylor’s gift. She wrote, “Miss adores her hand-embroidered blankie from miss @taylorswift.” She also expressed hope of Daisy carrying the blanket around for years. Furthermore, she wished that a teenaged Daisy might keep it as an “unrecognizable shred” in her pocket.

A small handwritten note by Taylor, dated May 3, also accompanied the blanket. The letter was addressed to “Katy and Orlando (and little one).” The stationary’s header read “Sent with love and hugs from the desk of Taylor Swift.” The Instagram post also featured the starting lines of Taylor’s congratulatory note – “ When I was a baby, my most [prized] possession was a tiny silk (Blanket).” Katy Perry, 35 welcomed daughter Daisy Dove Bloom with her beau Orlando Bloom, 43, last month.

  • Katy Perry took to her Instagram handle to post a sweet appreciation post for Taylor’s gift. She wrote, “Miss adores her hand-embroidered blankie from miss @taylorswift.”
  • Taylor’s gesture and Katy’s appreciation of the same is the latest proof of the two singers having buried the hatchet and ended their alleged years-long feud.

The gesture might remind fans of some lines from the song “Invisible Strings” in Taylor’s latest album “Folklore.” The lyrics go: “Cold was the steel of my axe to grind for the boys who broke my heart/ Now I send their babies presents.” While Taylor and Katy certainly aren’t ex-lovers, at one point there was a major misunderstanding between the two stars.

Foes Turned Friends?

Taylor’s gesture and Katy’s appreciation of the same is the latest proof of the two singers having buried the hatchet. Over the years, the two have been in the news for allegedly taking potshots at each other through their music. Tracks like Swift’s “Bad Blood” and Perry’s “Swish Swish” gave fans enough fodder to guess at a rivalry between the two singers.

However, the two seemed to have made up in 2019 when Katy made a surprise appearance in the music video for Taylor’s song “You Need To Calm Down.” Earlier this year, Katy told Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show, “It’s hard for young girls growing up, [with] cliques and high school and pettiness and all that stuff, so now we’re super friendly and I’ve always wanted the best for her (Taylor) and we can talk about the best we want for each other”.
