Maliwal also asked the Delhi Police to arrest the people who allegedly sent her rape threats. She tweeted, “Ever since I wrote a letter to the I&B minister to get #SajidKhan out of Bigg Boss, I have been receiving rape threats on Instagram. Obviously, they want to stop our work.”

Maliwal added that she was giving a complaint to the Delhi police and asked them to register an FIR, investigate, and arrest the offenders. She also shared screenshots of the rape threats she had received on social media.

Earlier this week, Maliwal had taken to her Twitter to voice her disapproval of Sajid Khan’s participation in the controversial reality show Bigg Boss. She wrote, “Ten women had accused Sajid Khan of sexual harassment during the #MeToo movement… Now, this man has been given a place in Bigg Boss.”

Maliwal added that she had written to minister Anurag Thakur to have him removed from the show.

She also shared pictures of her letter to the minister, in which she included the numerous complaints levelled against Khan by multiple women. Maliwal’s letter read, “While there is a public outcry against Khan’s inclusion in the show, the makers of the show are refusing to remove him, as they gain TRP ratings and viewership due to the ensuing controversy.”

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) wrote to Thakur as well regarding the Khan case. The letter urged the minister to give him permission to work as he had already served a one-year suspension.

FWICE wrote the letter in response to Maliwal’s letter to Thakur as she sought to remove Khan from the reality television series.
