Smriti Irani says Jet Airways declined to give her a job, gets trolled on Twitter
There is no doubt that Smriti Irani is a highly internet and social media savvy Cabinet Minister. She has been supported, loved and even trolled on Social network sites often enough. The current Minister for Textiles recently started the #IloveHandloom campaign on twitter, promoting Indian handlooms, which was a great hit. Many citizens including some socialites and celebrities also posted their pictures wearing Handloom sarees.
However on Wednesday speaking at a awards function organised by the Air Passengers Association of India (APAI), the textiles minister revealed to everyone’s surprise that she tried to get a job as a cabin crew member at Jet Airways but was rejected.
“I don’t know if many people know that one of the first jobs that I wanted and I lined up for was cabin crew at Jet. I was rejected because I was told I don’t have a good personality. Thank God for your rejection. After that, I got a job at McDonald’s and the rest is history,” reported NewsWorldIndia.com
Her statement set Twitter abuzz, with many funny and sarcastic comments . Sample these:
1st time agree wit @smritiirani 's comment "thank God" Jet Airways rejected her!

Not sure why Smriti Irani wanted to work with Jet Airways, considering her qualifications are more suited to manning a snack stall at Dadar.
