On Friday, studio executives disclosed that three new Star Wars films are in fabrication, with the first film set for release in 2025.

Who is Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy ?

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy was born on November 12, 1978 in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. She is best known for directing the films Saving Face, A Journey of a Thousand Miles: Peacekeepers, and A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness.

Obaid-Chinoy's 2012 documentary Saving Face, a riveting look at the survivors of acid assault, won Pakistan's first Oscar. Moreover, the writer and director has been covering marginalised groups' tales since she was 14 years old.

Obaid-Chinoy is a prominent member of Asia Society's Asia 21 Young Leaders network, and her work frequently addresses women's and human rights concerns.

In Saudi Arabia, Syria, Timor Leste, the Philippines, and other countries, she has worked with refugees and the marginalised. She has frequently assisted in bringing about significant change in these areas by raising voices that are typically marginalised.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy has produced acclaimed movies in more than ten different nations, garnering numerous Emmys and other honours in the process.

"Jedi Order" Will Be Emphasised Upon In Film

The upcoming film will focus primarily on Rey's initiatives to revive the Jedi order.

Obaid-Chinoy, who secured two Oscars for her work on anti-violence against-women documentaries, implied that the Star Wars world lured her in because of its "hero's journey. After directing the newest instalment of the Indiana Jones series, which will be broadcast later this year, James Mangold, the two-time Oscar contender, will take the helm of another of the movies.

The film will examine the Jedi order's early history, which took place thousands of years before the main plot.

Female Jedi Warrior - Ahsoka

As Ahsoka, a female Jedi warrior who made her debut in an animated series, fans at the conference also got to see US actress Rosario Dawson in that character for the first time.

The figure has become so popular among Star Wars fans that a television series based on her will debut in August.
