Who Is Sana Ramchand, The First Hindu Woman To Crack Pakistan Civil Services Exam

It is the first time that a Hindu woman, Sana Ramchand, has cleared Pakistan's prestigious Central Superior Services examination (CSS), and has been selected for the Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS).

Sana Ramchand is one of the 221 candidates who successfully cleared the CSS examination out of 18,553 candidates who appeared in the written examination.

The final selections were made based on oral, medical and psychological tests. The pass percentage of the examination has been less than 2 per cent. It shows the tough competition and the rigorous standards that are applied by the Federal Public Service Commission which is responsible for the recruitment.

Who is Sana Ramchand, the first Hindu woman to crack Pakistan Civil Services Exam?

- Sana Ramchand is an MBBS doctor from the Shikarpur district in the Sindh province of Pakistan. The area has the largest Hindu population in Pakistan.

- Ramchand completed her MBBS from Chandka Medical College in Sindh province.

- She completed her house job in Karachi's Civil Hospital.

- Ramchand is currently pursuing FCPS from the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transparent and would soon become a qualified surgeon.

- She tweeted after getting her result and said "Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh". She also added that she has cleared the CSS 2020 examination and has been allocated to PAS, and she is pleased to share that by the grace of Allah Almighty. Ramchand also added that all the credit for her success goes to her parents.

- According to BBC Urdu, she is the first Hindu woman to be selected for the PAS after passing the CSS examination.

- Ramchand is one of the 79 women who made it to the final list of the examination and have been allotted several groups including PAS.

- Several people have congratulated her on social media, which also included some political leaders. A senior leader of the Pakistan People Party, Farhatullah Babar, tweeted and congratulated Dr Sana Ramchand. He said in his tweet that Ramchand has made the Hindu community in Pakistan and the whole country proud.
