India's biggest hope in women's shooting, Heena Sidhu is out of the race to the women's 10 metres Air Pistol finals event and finished 14th in the qualifications at the Olympic Shooting Centre. 26-year-old Heena Sidhu, a Guangzhou Asian Games 2010 silver medallist managed to shoot an overall 380 with 13 inner 10s after the completion of the four series.

The winning medal went to Russian team’s Vitalina Batsarashkina who topped the qualification round after she scored 390 pts with 14 inner 10s.

Heena started the first series with 94 cumulative points before dropping to 29th with 95 points in the second. In the third series, Heena’s came back performance took her to the 20th spot but she lost fist at the end, giving her 96 cumulative points. She started the fourth series at the 25th spot, but failed to maintain the show, shooting 9 and 10 in her first two shots before failing to hit another 10. Her last three shots fetched a 9, 10 and another 10 taking her toll to 95 cumulative points ending her hopes.

Greek shooter Anna Kokarakaki finished third scoring 387 with 12 inner 10s.
