Remya Suresh video controversy: The Malayalam film actor is seeking legal recourse after an alleged morphed pornographic video, falsely attributed to her, began doing rounds on social media, reports said Thursday. Claiming it is not her in the video, Suresh has appealed to people to not believe in the video and avoid spreading it any further.

In a Facebook video posted June 1, Suresh says the issue first came to her notice when a friend forwarded the morphed content to her. Though it was not her, the person in the said video did have a close resemblance to her, she said.

"Surprisingly, her facial features match with mine. People who know me well can tell the difference if they look closely. But, I am afraid others won’t be able to see that difference," Suresh told viewers in Malayalam.

"I have nothing to do with the video that is spreading the way I am. Legal action has been taken in relation to that. Please don't spread it," she wrote alongside her video, tagging industry notables Aju Varghese, Fahadh Faasil, Dileep and others.

In her Facebook video, Suresh says she has confidence after seeking legal action but expressed unease at the damage the alleged viral morphed video may have already caused. "I know that the person in the video is not me. My husband also shares my confidence, which gives me courage. And police officials were also very supportive... But, I have been getting a lot of messages on Facebook. I am afraid of what I will tell my friends when they call me after watching that video. At first glance, the girl in the video looks like me," she says.

Impressing upon her journey and work, she adds it has taken a long time to get her to the point where she is in her career and so people shouldn't "think of me like that and message me."
