A lead singer of a French rock band, Rebecca Baby, recently performed topless at a music festival as a protest after she was reportedly sexually assaulted by some of the audience. The frontwoman of the band Lulu Van Trapp said that she did this to stand against the injustices and the sexualisation of the female body.

Rebecca Baby has taken centre stage in the news for her fearless behaviour and fortitude against the injustice of being sexually assaulted in a crowd. She reported being groped during her music performance at the Le Cri de la Goutte festival in France, while she descended into the crowd with a mic in order to interact.

Despite the frightening incident, she continued singing, and as a protest against the same, she sang topless, depicting her resistance against sexual objectification.

By the end of the concert, women in the crowd endorsed and stood with their tops high in the sky, showing their support to the singer’s powerful step against the objectification of women's bodies.

In an Instagram post (now-removed), a furious Rebecca claimed, “I'm faced with a choice. Either I stop the concert and everyone loses, especially me, or I continue. I'll stay topless until it's normal. Until your brains get used to it not being sexual.”

The band thanked the organisers in the comment section, and the singer said that she would make a detailed video about the incident. "If anyone on here has videos of the performance and especially of me speaking after the assault, I would love to [receive] them. Thank you very much! And thank you to the audience (-1 or 2 idiots) that was wonderful," she wrote

In a statement, the Cri de la Goutte Festival organisers said, "We remind you that our festival wants to be a safe space, a place of sharing and freedom, where everyone must be able to express themselves, create, vibe, and live without fear. Music brings together; it should never be a ground for violence."
