Ram Nath Kovind I Day Speech: The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, addressed the nation today on the eve of the 75th Independence Day. In his speech, he highlighted the need for parents to value daughters and provide them opportunities to grow. Here are  the highlights of this speech.
  • He said that women are succeeding in all walks of life which is bringing about monumental changes in the country.
  • He highlighted how women are making a mark in different fields - from higher educational institutions to armed forces, from laboratories to playgrounds
  • He advised parents to provide opportunities to their daughters also to explore avenues of growth.
  • "I urge every parent to learn from the families of such promising daughters and provide opportunities to their daughters also to explore avenues of growth," he said.

 

  • He also hailed female sportspersons who made the country proud by giving stellar performances at the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics.
  • "In the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics, our sportspersons have brought laurels to the nation with their stellar performances. India has won the highest number of medals in the 121 years of its participation in the Olympics. Our daughters have achieved world class excellence in playgrounds overcoming many adversities", he said.
  • He said that a glimpse of developed India can be seen in the success of our daughters.

During Olympics as well, President Ram Nath Kovind was active on social media praising our female sportspersons for their performance at Tokyo. He congratulated Lovlina Borgohain when she clinched a bronze medal.

He also hailed the women's hockey team and golfer Aditi Ashok for excelling in their respective fields.
