Sindhu, the Hyderabad child, has shown tremendous consistency in her games. Her fierce work rate in the game today left the 17 year old Indonesian perplexed and defeated in the first round. With Sindhu's offensive tactic, the opponent had no choice but to keep an eye out for this shuttler's aim and play in the defensive; strategy that did not beam well with her.

With Sindhu's unswerving performance, she has arguably become India's top badminton champion. Saina Nehwal too was to play the tournament, but had to take a backseat due to a knee injury.

In an interview with SheThePeople.Tv, Sindhu had opened up about her parents who she says "has sacrificed a lot to get me here.”

"Hardwork is the key to success", is Sindhu's mantra.

Her coach, Pullela Gopichand and her parents, former volleyball players, P.V. Ramana and P. Vijaya have been there to support her at every step of the way. She believes it is their sacrifice that has gotten her to this podium of victory especially in reference to her win at the Olympics.

The sacrifice and determination still holds and she has been on her A game since!
