PV Sindhu on Thursday announced a donation Rs 10 Lakhs to relief funds to fight COVID 19 Pandemic. She has donated Rs 5 Lakh each to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. “I hereby donate an amount of Rs 5,00,000/- each (Rs five Lakhs) towards the “Chief Minister Relief Fund” for the states of Telangana and Andra Pradesh to fight against COVID-19” she tweeted.
Sania Mirza
Sania Mirza also came forward to raise money to provide food and other basic necessities for the daily wage workers. “In this difficult time that the world is going through, we are privileged to be able to sit at home, in comfort and wait for everything to be ok again…there are thousands of people who aren’t that lucky enough and it’s our responsibility to take care of them in whatever capacity we can” she said on Twitter.

The public appreciated this move by the two. They have been urging celebrities to provide much needed financial support. Various doctors throughout the nation took to social media to highlight the dire condition of Indian hospitals. This move of PV Sindhu and Sania, said twitterati, carries home the message that we are all are in this together. And that mutual support is what that will get all of us out of it.

They aren’t well equipped to deal with the predicted pressure of coronavirus patients. The government has announced a special package of Rs 15,000 crore to hospitals to make sure people get proper treatment. This also hints on an economic depression soon to be hitting India. Amidst this crisis such financial supports are imperative.
