Perfume Designer Found Dead in Goa
Perfume designer Monika Ghurde (39) was found dead on October 6, in her apartment in Goa’s Sangolda district, where she lived alone.
Police inspector Rajesh Kumar said that when the police went to investigate, they found Ghurde’s nude body in the flat, which had also been burgled. Her brother, Anand, could not get in touch with her on Thursday morning, following which he asked the designer’s American neighbour to check on her.
Initial police reports suspect that the woman was raped and strangulated.
“We have sent the body for post-mortem. Only after the report is received will we be able to know the exact cause of death,” said the inspector.
Her body is being examined at the Goa Medical College.
Ghurde, who is from Nagpur, moved to Goa in 2011.
