In a world where women are unsafe at night, here is a story that will restore your faith in humanity. This is the story of a girl, that has since gone viral, who took a cab at 2am and was fortunate enough to get a cab driver who understood the importance of women safety.

Shilpa Tandon wrote a post in LinkedIn wherein she appreciated the efforts of a cab driver, who waited patiently outside her friend’s PG accomodation, until, she got in.

Tandon’s friend had called her to her place as she was unwell. So Tandon left her house at 2am to go to her friends place. Of course travelling at night and that to in Gurugram would make any girl feel unsafe or not willing to go. But she booked a Ola cab anyway.

When she reached her friend’s place, the caretaker was taking way too long to answer the door. During this period the Ola driver who took her to her friend’s house waited patiently outside to make sure that she reached inside safely.

She wrote, “I arrived at the location, it was taking time for the caretaker to wake up and come to open the door. I told the driver to leave and I will wait outside for the door to open.”

She even told the driver to leave, or she will pay him. However, he refused to take any money, and he even made the other clients wait, so that Tandon goes inside the home safely.

This small act surely restores our faith in humanity. There are some men who decide to take a stand and make sure that the women in India are safe. There are several people who have commented on this viral post and have appreciated this unsung hero, a hero without a name.

We live in a country where women don’t feel safe when they step out of their houses at night. Such heroes are what India needs, who make sure that people especially girls around them are safe.
