Ola Driver Arrested For Allegedly Forcing Passenger To Strip Naked

An Ola driver in Bengaluru allegedly forced a woman passenger to strip and pose for pictures. He even tried to molest her and threatened to call his friends and get the woman gang-raped if she complained to anyone. The woman has complained to the police and the driver has now been arrested. A case has been registered and an investigation is going on.

The police said as reported by TOI,"On the way, driver Arun V stopped the car midway and diverted it to a secluded place. He then locked all the doors and windows and when the woman tried to raise an alarm, he threatened her with dire consequences. The driver even tried to strangle her and warned her that if she did not follow his instructions he would call all his friends and gang-rape her."

The woman booked the cab to go to the airport. However, her ride turned traumatic when the driver stopped the car midway. He molested her and forced her to strip naked and took her pictures on his phone. The accused later dropped her at the airport. He even threatened to make her pictures go viral on social media if she reported the incident to the police. However, the woman then sent her complaint to the police via an email.

"After reaching the airport she complained through email to our commissioner that such an incident has happened. Based on the mail transaction, we immediately registered an FIR and arrested the driver and seized the car," the Additional Commissioner of Police Seemanth Kumar Singh said, the TOI reported.

Ola Statement

Further, a notice was sent to Ola and they have stated that a background investigation was done for the accused as per the rules.

Ola further said in its statement, "We regret the unfortunate experience the customer had during the ride. We have zero tolerance for such incidents and the driver has been blacklisted from the platform as an immediate action. Safety of our customers is our top priority and we are extending full support to the police authorities in their investigation."
