Nandita Das gets COVID vaccine: On Saturday, actor-director Nandita Das received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at a COVID-19 centre in Goa. She took to Instagram to post a photo of herself while receiving her COVID-19 shot.

"Got my first shot. Do get yours. Benefits outweigh any apprehensions," she wrote in the caption for her post.

Nandita Das has now become the latest celebrity, to have received the COVID-19 vaccine. Many celebrities such as Malaika Arora, Amitabh Bachchan, Rohit Shetty, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Sharmila Tagore, Dharmendra, Hema Malini, etc, have already received their first shot.

Nandita Das will be seen in a Telugu film

As far as her work is concerned, Nandita Das will be seen soon in the Telugu film Virata Parvamalongside actors Rana Daggubati, Sai Pallavi, Priyamani and Easwari Rao among others. The film's teaser was recently released, and it gives a glimpse into a love story set in Telangana in the 90s. The film is slated to release on 30th April this year. She was last seen in Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyun Aata Hai? alongside Manav Kaul. Besides acting, Nandita Das is known for directing critically acclaimed films such as Firaaq, Manto, etc.

Last week, the government of India had announced that people above 45 years of age can get vaccinated for COVID-19.

Amongst politicians, Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister, and AAP leader Manish Sisodia, and his wife Seema Sisodia received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday. They were present at the Maulana Azad Medical College for the vaccination.

Sisodia took to Twitter to give the news. In his tweet, he thanked the scientists and medical teams who are working to make the COVID-19 vaccine.
