At the biggest state medical college in Madhya Pradesh, a number of senior MBBS students have been accused of ragging, including pressuring juniors into performing obscene and abusive behaviour. The names of the senior students have not been made public.

The junior students at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College in Indore called the University Grants Commission's (UGC) anti-ragging helpline following the incident involving senior students and described their alleged experience. The junior students claimed to the police that the seniors forced them into engaging in sex acts with pillows and their batchmates. They further alleged to the police that the seniors had compelled them to abuse their batchmates, who were women. They claimed that the incident took place at the senior Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) students' flats.

- The alleged incident occurred among Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) students of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial(MGM) Medical College in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

- It was also claimed that the seniors forced younger male students to engage in abusive and obscene behaviours, such as forcing them to choose the name of a female batchmate and insulting her.

- Additionally, they said that they were made to slap each other firmly. The junior students claim they were made to perform sit-ups, have their phones taken, and hit each other so hard that it could be heard "loud and clear."

- The complaint was made by a junior student to the UGC's anti-ragging helpline.

- The medical college filed a first information report (FIR) after receiving a request from the UGC to take action against the senior students.

- The Indore Police reported that they would begin recording all MBBS freshers' statements.

- According to the complaint made to the UGC, several professors did nothing to stop ragging and instead supported it.

- According to officials, the thorough complaint to the UGC includes audio and video recordings, including a WhatsApp chat, that is evidence of the ragging and abuse of junior students.

- The head of the neighbourhood police station, Tehzeeb Qazi, is quoted as saying that the police are taking down all of the students' remarks and will identify the seniors accused of the offence based on the complaint.

- The students claimed that they were hesitant to reveal their identities for fear of retaliation from the seniors.
