A child gives birth to a mother-Vithal Venkatesh Kamat
Attaining motherhood can be a life-altering event for a woman. Saddled with new responsibilities, motherhood is definitely a roller coaster ride replete with love, emotions, growth and the fear of unknown.
On Mother’s Day, SheThePeople.Tv spoke to some women about their tryst with motherhood and how it is helping them evolve.
Delhi based Kanika Arora, who is expecting her first child soon, says that she experiences mingled feelings about this forthcoming big event in her life.
“I am excited and nervous at the same time. I have started sensing some movement inside me. What I am experiencing is blissful. Infact, I pray for my child’s well-being everyday.”, she says.
“Motherhood taught me to sacrifice my happiness for the sake of my kids. There is absolutely no one who can take their place in my lives. I have become more patient and tolerant now.”-Asha Singh
She further adds that she will have to look after herself more since she will be soon bearing the responsibility of another life.
While Kanika is all jittery with the new bundle of joy she will embrace in her life, SheThePeople.Tv spoke to Delhi based Anupama Kathuria who talks about her motherhood experience with a lot of contentment.
“Both my kids are grown ups now and doing really good in their lives. But there was a time when I used to be really worried about their future. From their class XII boards to their job hunting phase, I have seen that all. It has been an enriching experience. I have grown a lot in these years.”, she sums up.
“I remember myself not being a very good cook earlier. It was after my children’s birth that I started paying more attention to nutrition and its importance in ensuring that my kids grow up to become healthy adults.”, confesses Asha Singh, mother of two pubescent kids.
“Motherhood taught me to sacrifice my happiness for the sake of my kids. There is absolutely no one who can take their place in my lives. I have become more patient and tolerant now.”, Asha shares when asked about the plethora of lessons motherhood taught her.
She adds that she has started revering her mother more now. “I idolize my mother and want my children to have the same upbringing.”
SheThePeople.Tv wishes Mother’s Day to all the lovely mothers out there.
