Pune: Mother And Son Found Murdered In Different Locations, Police Suspect Missing Father

Mother and Son Murdered: A mother and son duo was found murdered in two different areas in Pune on Tuesday. The police are looking for the father who is currently missing.

According to the police statement, the father used to take the mother and son on long trips lasting the whole day every day from June 11 to June 14. This initial investigation has left the police suspecting the missing father after the duo was murdered. However, the police are also looking into other possible angles of the case. They are still looking for the man.

The police have directed that they have intensified the search for him. Seven teams have been formed in order to track him down and simultaneously investigate the double murder. The police have reportedly got a few leads from the CCTV footages.

Mother And Son Murdered, Bodies Found In Different Locations

The mother's body was found in the Saswad region of Pune on Tuesday morning. Later during the day, the body of a seven-year-old boy was found in the Katraj tunnel. According to the post-mortem reports, the mother was assaulted, while the son died due to strangulation.

According to reports, the family had shifted from Madhya Pradesh to Pune in 2007 for work-related reasons. The woman worked in Pune until a few years ago. The missing husband worked as a manager in a private company in Pune.

According to a police official, the couple was stressed due to the medical issues with their son. The son had Global Developmental Delay which is a cognitive disorder.

Police are suspecting that the family went to Saswad, where the woman was found dead the next day. Later, the father is suspected to have gone to the Katraj area, where his son’s body was found. The family was travelling in a rented car on all their previous trips too.

The missing man reportedly went to the Market Yard area where he left the rented car on June 15 as seen in the CCTV footage. The police also found blood on the backseat of the car along with two iron pipes and other items.
