As per a report by the Indian Express, the minor wrestler withdrew her allegations against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. However, the wrestler's father said that the charges have not been withdrawn.

Sources said that the wrestler recorded a fresh statement before a magistrate under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

However, after the news of the minor wrestler withdrawing her complaint went viral and her father clarified to The Print that the complaint has not been withdrawn. The minor wrestler's father stated that the news of the charges being withdrawn is "completely fake". He added, "I have taken the decision to fight it out and I will."

Earlier, a man claiming to be the uncle of the minor wrestler slammed the wrestlers' protests and claimed they were "misleading" his family. He alleged that the wrestlers were misusing the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and changed the wrestler's age to 16.

In the viral video, the uncle revealed the identity of the minor wrestler and her family, which is a criminal offence under the POCSO Act.

The Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal issued a notice to the police seeking action against the man who allegedly revealed the minor wrestler's identity.

The DCW also asked the Delhi Police to inform the reasons behind not arresting the accused Brij Bhushan Singh.

On June 3, Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, and Bajrang Punia met with Home Minister Amit Shah and demanded an early chargesheet against the WFI chief.

Two FIRs were filed against the WFI chief Brij Bhushan Singh. One of the FIRs mentioned the minor wrestler's allegations against Singh and was filed under Section 10 of the POCSO Act.

The wrestler had alleged that Singh purposefully touched her inappropriately. She also alleged that he had squeezed her towards himself and deliberately brushed his hands against her breasts.
