Rajnandgaon Rape Case: A 15-year-old minor girl has been allegedly raped by five accused men in the Motipur area of Rajnandgaon city, Chhattisgarh. The five accused have been arrested by the police after a report had been filed against them.
A minor girl had been allegedly raped by five men in the Motipur area of Rajnandgaon city in Chhattisgarh. An FIR was filed by the family of the 15-year-old girl in Chikhali police chowki after which the accused persons were arrested by the police.
It is reported that the incident took place at different places and on different dates. The minor girl had been raped over a period of one year in various instances by the accused men.
“The victim named five accused & revealed that the incident took place at five different places. We have arrested the five accused on the basis of her complaint,” SP Pragya Meshram told the media.

26-year-old accused Akash Dewangan, 29-year-old Vijay Dewangan, 39-year-old Dinesh Rawate, 23-year-old Arun Sinha and 26-year-old Pramod God were arrested after the complaint had been lodged with the police. All the accused men were residents of the Motipur area.
The survivor did not file a complaint earlier fearing the threats given by the accused. On Wednesday, the family filed an FIR and the accused of the Rajnandgaon city rape case have been detained under Section 376 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Earlier this year in February, a 16-year-old minor girl was allegedly raped and killed by six men in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district. The accused men took three victims of the incident – the girl’s father, the 16-year-old and a four-year-old, to a deserted forest area and raped them. After committing the crime, they trashed the trio with stones, killing them and dumped the bodies into the forest.
The accused men had been detained under the Indian Penal Code sections 302 (murder), 376 (2)G (gangrape), and provisions of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
