Here's What 'Sister Wives' Star Meri Brown Said About Her 30-Year Marriage

Meri Brown, star of reality television show Sister Wives, opened up on her marriage to Kody Brown, saying that after 30 years together, the couple is now "figuring out" where their relationship is. The two notably share a polygamist marriage, wherein Kody has four wives. This forms the premise of their show that has run for 14 seasons since 2010.

Ahead of the TLC series' upcoming season premiere, 50-year-old Meri Brown told PEOPLE, "We are in a place where we're just figuring out where we are and, you know, what is happening."

The Browns married each other in 1990. As Kody began welcoming more wives into the mix, Meri and he had to initiate divorce so he could be legally married to only one woman: Robyn. His other wives Meri, Janelle and Christine are "spiritually wedded" to him, he claims.

Who Is Meri Brown On Sister Wives?

Several of the show's stars, including Meri Brown, have themselves been raised in polygamist settings. Sister Wives, they claim, is an attempt at breaking the stereotypes around polygamy. Kody, Meri and the other three sister wives have a total of 18 children between them.

Brown, in a teaser released for the upcoming season of Sister Wives, was heard confessing that her relationship with Kody was seemingly going through a rough patch. "I can't make him love me," she said. 

In 2015, she had made headlines for claiming she was catfished by a stranger online whom she thought was a man but later turned out to be a woman. Following this, her relationship with Kody reportedly hit a snag and the two had to go for therapy.

In the previous season, the family had broken out into different homes. Living separately, as also through the virus, the Brown family was reportedly not able to see each other much. Kody was quoted saying in an interview, "COVID has been hard on our relationships."
