Man injects Girlfriend With Ketamine: A shocking crime has been reported in Maharashtra's Navi Mumbai area where a man allegedly killed his girlfriend as he did not want to marry her.

The accused person identified as Chandrakant Gaikkar who works at a hospital in Panvel allegedly injected his girlfriend with Ketamine on the pretext of curing her illness, the police said. The deceased woman's body was found in the area by Panvel police on May 29, 2021. The police then sent the body for post-mortem to investigate the cause of her death. The body was later identified by the woman's brother who claimed to the police that his sister was having an affair with Gaikkar.

Before the deceased woman's brother came to the police station, the police officers had recovered a plastic bag with the deceased woman's belongings such as some of her clothes, Aadhaar card and purse. The brother also told police that he had heard her sister arguing with the accused on phone.

After interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to the crime. Gaikkar said that he had been having an affair with the deceased woman for the past six months and claimed that the woman was forcing him for marriage. The accused claimed that the woman was using her illness as an excuse to get married soon. According to the police, the accused felt pressured and decided to kill her.

The man confessed to allegedly injecting his girlfriend with Ketamine as he lied to her about curing her illness. He then threw away the woman's belongings in a plastic bag, the police said. The accused was produced in court on Monday and was later sent to judicial custody till June 6, 2021.
