The ‘Queen of Pop’ has registered another great record in her account with her newly released album. The name of her top-rated album of the week is “Madame X.” Madame X is the 14th studio album by American singer and songwriter Madonna.
Stellar compositions throughout her career
This week, the sale of her album sale and concert tickets has topped the Billboard Charts for the ninth time. The 60-year-old artist has brought the amalgam of power, innovation, and style into a singular career in music, fashion, and movies. The power-house celebrity singer has produced stellar compositions in her lifetime and also in her way to amaze us even more!
Topping week’s chart
Madonna is indeed propelled her way to the top in an effort to break the record of Barbra Streisand. Streisand is one of the best-selling recording artists of all time. Billboard also recognises Streisand as the greatest female of all time on its Billboard 200 chart and one of the greatest artists of all time on its Hot 100 chart. Till date, establishing a record, Barbra has topped the Billboard 200 chart for 11 times.
According to Nielsen, “Madame X” opened with the equivalent of 95,000 sales in the United States. The album’s 95,000 equivalent sales include 90,000 copies sold as a full album as well as just 5.4 million streams — the lowest number of streams for any No. 1 album this year. Madonna’s tour of theatres opens in September with 17 shows at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Bruce Springsteen’s new “Western Stars” has grabbed the No. 2 position this week on the Billboard charts. It has the equivalent of 66,000 sales, including 62,000 copies sold as a complete album and 4.4 million streams.
At No. 3 this week is Billie Eilish’s “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” However, the Jonas Brothers’ “Happiness Begins,” was the last week’s chart-topper and the British band Bastille opened at No. 5 with its new album “Doom Days.”
She knows how to be a record-breaker!
Having sold more than 300 million records worldwide, Madonna is noted as the best-selling female recording artist of all time by Guinness World Records. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has listed her as the second highest-certified female artist in the United States with a tally of 64.5 million album units. The Billboard has classified Madonna as the most successful solo artist in their Hot 100 chart history. She is also the highest-grossing solo touring artist of all time, accumulating U.S. $1.4 billion from her concert tickets alone. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in her first year of eligibility, Madonna topped VH1’s countdown of 100 Greatest Women in Music. Additionally, Rolling Stone listed her among the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time and the 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time.
Madonna life is not only inspiring but also challenging. But, who else knows it better to come out as a warrior.
