Liz Sheridan, Who Played Jerry's Mom In Seinfeld, Passes Away At 93

The veteran stage and screen actor Liz Sheridan, who played the role of Jerry Seinfeld's mother, Helen Seinfeld is no more. She passed away on Friday morning. She had celebrated her 93rd birthday earlier this week and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law. Paying tribute to her, Jerry Seinfeld called her the "nicest TV mom."

Sheridan died in her sleep from natural causes. Her friend and representative Amanda Hendon told the press that her birthday was on April 10 and she passed away five days after that.

Remembering the legendary actor, Seinfeld took on his Twitter feed and posted a picture of himself with the actor in a black and white formating. The caption read, "Liz was always the sweetest, nicest TV mom a son could wish for. Every time she came on our show it was the coziest feeling for me. So lucky to have known her."

Liz Sheridan Passed Away

She has also appeared o the alien-led sitcom called ALF as the snoopy neighbour, Mrs Ochmonek. Other than the show, she has had a strong stage presence. She was part of Broadway and was seen in plays and musicals during the 1970s. She had done Happy End with Meryl Streep and Ballroom.

Not only these, but she was also a trained dancer who made her Broadway debut with Frank Merriwell in 1971. After having the most brilliant 70s in theatre and on stage, from the 1980s onwards she focused on films and television shows primarily.

Other than acting and dancing, she was also an author and had written the autobiography titled, Dizzy & Jimmy. In the book, she had archived her relationship with a young and pre-stardom James Dean. Their story unfolded at a time when both individuals were struggling to make their name in the industry. Reportedly, the actor had been working on developing the book into a film.

She passed away two weeks after the death of a fellow Seinfeld cast member Estelle Harrus, who played the role of George Costanza's mother on the show.
