Justin Trudeau is the second youngest of political leaders worldwide. Son of former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, Justin has managed to put together the first ever gender-balanced cabinet in Canadian History, with an exact 50-50 ratio.

He also doesn't shy away from calling himself a feminist. His wife Sophie and him are quite sensitive towards gender as an issue and are actively engaged with the civil society for the betterment of the situation. The Prime Minister shared how they had to run a whole campaign around women's leadership in order to encourage them to participate in political leadership.

Justin believes that it is very important to empower the daughters with the skills and strength needed to deal with any stress situation. But more importantly, he believes that it is necessary to engage and sensitize young boys. He says, "You need to take as much effort to talk to your son about how he treats women."

Here are a few of Trudeau's most awesome feminist quotes that make him the ideal global ambassador for feminism:

Is he a feminist?

Well... yes:

"My mom raised me to be a feminist. My father raised me, he was a different generation but he raised me to respect and defend everyone's rights, and I deeply grounded my own identity in that, and I am proud to say that I am a feminist." Bustle

"We shouldn't be afraid of the word 'feminist'; men and women should use it to describe themselves anytime they want."

Engage the men, empower the women. Only then can we build better solutions.

What does he think of Equality?

He thinks equal:

"As a father, I want to know my daughter will have the same opportunities as my sons. The Liberal Party of Canada recognizes that women's lost income potential because of the wage gap hurts Canadian families and hurts our economy."

Here is what PM Trudeau said at the WEF:

The strength of any society depends on the full participation of all its citizens, including women. Ensuring gender parity and the advancement of women’s rights should be a given in 2016. I have made clear Canada’s commitment to gender parity—it remains a priority for our government domestically, as well as internationally.”
