Boylan, who is running for Manhattan Borough President, has accused Cuomo of repeated harassment while she worked for the state for more than three years. She recently published a post on Medium on Wednesday. Andrew Cuomo is an American politician, who is serving as the 56th governor of New York since 2011.

She went on to say that Cuomo subjected her to "pervasive harassment" while also passing on numerous inappropriate comments in front of other people and a kiss on the lips while they were alone. "Let's play strip poker," Boylan said she was offered by Cuomo on one occasion in 2017. "I'm compelled to tell my story because no woman should feel forced to hide their experiences of workplace intimidation, harassment and humiliation — not by the Governor or anyone else," Boylan wrote in an essay.

“My boss soon informed me that the Governor had a ‘crush’ on me,” Boylan wrote. “It was an uncomfortable but all-too-familiar feeling: the struggle to be taken seriously by a powerful man who tied my worth to my body and my appearance.”

1. Boylan is a Democrat, currently running for the office of running for Manhattan borough president. She worked for Cuomo’s administration from 2015 to 2018. She served as chief of staff at the state economic development agency, according to her LinkedIn page. She was a special adviser to the governor.

2. She resigned in September 2018—months after the kiss—having come “to work nauseous every day” after the incident. “My relationship with his senior team—mostly women—grew hostile after I started speaking up for myself,” she added.

3. She also alleged there was an incident in 2018 when she was in his New York City offices when he kissed her on the lips and go out of his way to touch her “on my lower back, arms and legs.” She detailed several specific instances, backing up her claims against the governor with screenshots of emails and texts.

When Boylan first went public in December saying that Cuomo had sexually harassed her "for years", he denied the allegations and said, “I totally respect a woman’s right, fought for a woman’s right, to express any concern, any issue that she has in the workplace. I support that. But the tweets were simply not true.”

5. The former government official's allegations emerged huge as the governor now faces calls for his resignation. Federal authorities have already started an investigation into the matter.

6. Boylan ran for election to the US House to represent New York's 10th Congressional District but unfortunately lost in the Democratic primary on June 23, 2020.

7. She spent almost a decade in urban planning and management and has previously secured millions of dollars for underfunded public housing while working for the government.

8. The 36-year-old recently faced harassment accusations of her own after an internal memo from 2018 claimed that she harassed and yelled at female staffers before resigning from her job as Cuomo's special adviser. She was called "unprofessional" by several women at the office.
