Kylie Jenner is now the youngest self-made billionaire with a worth of $1 Billion. The 21-year old is a makeup entrepreneur who owns Kylie Cosmetics. The three-year-old beauty business generated an estimated $360m in sales last year. She made her debut as an entrepreneur in 2015 and owns 100 per cent of the company while Kris Jenner serves as the company’s chief financial officer. Kylie took the title from Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg, who became a billionaire in 2008 at age of 23. Before that, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates held the position in 1987, he was 31.
On the billionaire's list, Forbes distinguishes between those who inherited much of their wealth and those who made their fortunes on their own. "She's the youngest-ever self-made billionaire, reaching a ten-figure fortune at a younger age than even Mark Zuckerberg ," Forbes said.
“I didn’t expect anything. I did not foresee the future,” says Jenner, who is the youngest billionaire in the world. “But feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back.”
Kylie is the most financially successful member of the Jenner-Kardashian family. Her older sister Kim Kardashian West has an estimated net worth of $350 million. She took to Twitter last year in July to congratulate and appreciate her baby sister.
Jenner, who sells her cosmetics largely online, has 128 million followers on Instagram and 26.7 million followers on Twitter. “It’s the power of social media,” Jenner tells Forbes. “I had such a strong reach before I was able to start anything.”
“I really do feel like people don’t take me seriously as a businesswoman because of my age and my reputation,” Jenner said last year on Life of Kylie which is an American reality Television series.
