A first-grader wrote a touching letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about Maggi, pencils and other items that have become expensive. In this letter that she wrote in Hindi, reportedly 6-year-old Kriti Dubey of Chhibramau in Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj shared her struggles.
The note, which became widely popular on social media, stated: “My name is Kriti Dubey. I study in class 1. Modiji, you have caused an immense price rise. Even my pencil and rubber have got costlier and the price of Maggi has been increased, too. Now my mother beats me for asking for a pencil. What shall I do? Other kids steal my pencil.”

On social media, her father and counsel Vishal Dubey confirmed the letter. This is his daughter's Mann ki Baat, he told the journalists. He said, that, she became upset lately when her mother reprimanded her when she misplaced her pencil at school.
However, this is not the first time kids have protested to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about something. Reportedly, in a video another girl posted online last year, a 6-year-old Jammu and Kashmir child expressed her displeasure with online classes being held as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. She discussed extended classes and homework as well.
The youngster addressed Modi in the video with a greeting and introduced herself as a six-year-old who wanted to talk to him about online lessons. She also mentioned that she had to attend English, Urdu, and arithmetic classes as well as computer and environmental studies programmes.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha declared he had ordered the school education department to release a policy within 48 hours after this video went viral. Sinha noted, “Very adorable complaint. Have directed the school education department to come out with a policy within 48 hours to lighten the burden of homework on school kids. Childhood innocence is the gift of God and their days should be lively, full of joy and bliss."
