Kerala Nurse Breaks Vaccine Record: A veteran nurse made her way into headlines after she succeeded in administering 893 vaccine doses in just 7.5 hours on August 15. She gained massive recognition for the same, Health Minister Veena George felicitated her and appreciated her work personally.
The nurse, Pushapalatha works as a nurse at the state-run Chengannur District Hospital, about 100 km from Thiruvananthapuram. She created a record in a marathon effort on August 15 by administering COVID-19 vaccines to 893 people in 7.5 hours.
Pushapalatha that her attempt was successful because of teamwork and that each and every health worker is doing their role well. She added that she did not administer the impressive number of doses to break a record and that everything was done as per the rules.
George personally appreciated Pushapalatha's effort and also applauded each and every staff member of the faculty who do their job with responsibility. She stated that their efforts go unappreciated. She said they are the ones who drive the system forward.
Pushapalatha told the Health Minister that she previously was a singer and completed her nursing education with the help of her husband's family, according to a report by Mathrubhumi.
Many claimed that health workers are overworked and this could lead to some issues. Responding to the same, George said that this need not be seen in a negative way.

Pushapalatha who was a singer previously also handles work in the ward along with her vaccination duty. She also told the minister that she not only wishes to get a job but also wants to work honestly.
While thanking her teammates, Pushapalatha added that they are the reason behind her success. The team consists of Vineeth, Sreeraj, Sridevi, Remya, and Animol. George also appreciated them personally.
