Karnataka sex tape woman missing: The woman who reportedly appeared in an explicit CD with former Water Resources Minister of Karnataka Ramesh Jarkiholi has been missing since March 2. Her father, in a complaint made Tuesday night to police in Belagavi, has alleged that she has been abducted after the said video came to light in media. The family claims the woman's photos had been morphed to create "fake indecent videos" and her life may now be in danger.

Karnataka police have taken the woman's father's complaint into account and, as per reports, registered a case under sections 363, 368, 343, 346, 354 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

The police have already issued notices for the missing woman to return to assured protection from them. "We have pasted notices for her to appear and provide her statement by assuring all protection. An email has been sent to her address. There has been no response whatsoever from her so far," officers said.

Karnataka Sex Tape Woman Missing: Things To Know About The Case

The woman in question reportedly went missing after local media in Karnataka aired an alleged sex tape on March 2, that showed her and Jarkiholi sexually engaging on camera. On March 14, a video credited to her began circulating, in which the woman pleaded protection from the government. "I have already been stripped of my dignity everywhere... My parents tried to kill themselves twice. I, too, tried to kill myself three to four times.”

She accused Jarkiholi saying he “promised me a job and did everything and released the video.” Her parents said in their police complaint that she was probably abducted from her PG residence in Bengaluru.

Jarkiholi expressly denied all claims while stepping down as Water Resources minister on March 3. "The allegations against me are far from the truth... I am submitting my resignation on moral grounds," he said. His allegation that this episode is an attempt to tarnish his political image has led to a Special Investigation Team (SIT) police probe.

Police search is on for the woman and two other mediapersons said to be associated with the case. Reports say police suspect the role of seven persons involved in the creation and distribution of the said CD.
